Our Horses

Meet the incredible, hard-working horses of TEAD!

At TEAD, our horses are at the heart of everything we do. Each member of our herd is carefully selected and thoughtfully trained for their temperament, patience, and ability to connect with riders of all ages and abilities.

More than just partners in our programs, they are trusted teachers — helping to build confidence, encourage growth, and create meaningful moments of connection.

BECOME A HORSE SPONSOR

Our herd plays a vital role in serving over 200 clients each session, and caring for them requires significant resources.

TEAD’s Horse Sponsorship Program helps cover the $30,000 average annual cost per horse, including feed, bedding, farrier services, vet care, tack, and stable management. Sponsors ensure our horses stay healthy, happy, and ready to make a difference in our clients’ lives.

WHY HORSES

Working with horses provides a range of benefits that transcend the riding arena. Horses offer powerful opportunities for learning, connection, and growth — often without words — making them uniquely effective partners in therapeutic, educational, and developmental programs.

Horses Live in the Moment

Horses are forgiving, patient, and non-judgmental, allowing participants to make mistakes, learn from them, and build confidence.

Emotional Awareness & Regulation

Horses help participants increase emotional awareness and regulate emotions through calm interaction.

Communication & Feedback

Horses are sensitive to verbal and non-verbal cues, offering immediate feedback about communication.

Social Connection

As herd animals, horses offer insight into trust, boundaries, and relationships.

Understanding Fear & Resilience

Horses provide opportunities to recognize and safely work through fear responses.

Physical Benefits

Partnering with a horse can improve muscle tone, posture, balance, flexibility, and core strength.
